Därr meeting with the Bayern camels
A meeting that not only awakens wanderlust, but also inspires the desire to travel – that’s exactly how we experienced the Därr Treffen 2019. Hosted at the beautiful Bayern Kamele farm, it was the perfect mix of adventurous spirit, exciting conversations and animal idyll for us. But let’s start from the beginning!
Friday: Pure inspiration with a lecture on Morocco
The start of the meeting was a highlight: a fascinating presentation about Morocco took us into the world of desert, mountains and coasts with breathtaking pictures. The presentation was almost too good to be true and definitely made us want to plan our own adventure in this diverse country.
Saturday: The other side of the journey
This was followed on Saturday by another presentation that showed a different perspective. In addition to the impressive landscapes and warm encounters that Africa offers, the challenges were also addressed – such as the waste problem that is unfortunately present in some regions. This contrast made the speakers‘ experiences all the more authentic and inspired us to travel consciously and sustainably.
We found the practical background information particularly exciting:
- How safe is it to spend the night on the beach?
- What condition are the roads in?
- What tips should I bear in mind before traveling?
These insights not only inspired us, but also showed us how important it is to be well prepared and informed.
The cars: a dream for every globetrotter
Of course, the vehicles should not go unmentioned! Whether Unimogs, self-built four-wheel drive motorhomes or creative DIY solutions – the variety of motorhomes was impressive. It was a pleasure to stroll through the rows and exchange ideas with other participants. Each vehicle told its own story and sparked new ideas for future adventures.
